Choice

CHOSE CAREFULLY

Ken Collier: Director of The Wilds Christian Camp has a saying, “There are two choices on the shelf, Please God or Please Self.”

Joshua 24:15, And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Some of the biggest decisions you will make in this life are: who you will marry, where you will live, where will you go to college, what will you do for a living, etc. However, the biggest decision in this life you will ever make is: Who you will please with your life? In choosing to serve the Lord, it means you have chosen to please Him with your life. In that choice comes the blessing of the Lord and that is salvation.

Have you made the biggest decision of your life yet? Have you chosen to serve the Lord with all your heart? It’s the greatest choice you will ever make!

LESSER OF TWO EVILS

When you choose the lesser of two evils, always remember that it is still an evil. -Max Lerner

Psalm 97:10, Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

I recently heard this saying, “Remember when you cast a vote, you’re voting for the lesser of the two evils because Jesus isn’t on the ballot.” While I understand the mentality of the comment, I really don’t like to look at my vote as to the “lesser of two evils”. I like to think of it as I voted for the one who doesn’t want to kill babies. Or I voted for the one who will uphold Biblical marriage. I also like to think I voted for the one who is a constitutional conservative.

Will you vote for the “lesser of two evils” or will you vote for the one who upholds basic Biblical principles?

WRONG TURN?

Insomuch as any one pushes you nearer to God, he or she is your friend. –Anonymous

Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Have you taken a wrong turn headed down a sinful road? Are you out of church? Have you quit reading your Bible? Has life closed your mouth that once sang praises unto the Lord?

Are you wondering how you can recalculate and get on the right road to victory? Are you like the prodigal son, have you came to yourself and making your way back to the Heavenly Father?

Making your way back may seem hard, but the Lord is right there with you and His people will be there for you.
