OUR FOUNDATION

The Bible is the rock upon which our Republic rests. —Andrew Jackson

Psalm 119:130, The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

The Word of God should be the foundation, not only of every nation, but of every believer. Without it, we will be in a mess. Without it, we will miss out on heaven. Without it, we will miss out on the promises of God. Without it, we will miss out on the joys of heaven. No wonder why the enemy attacks the Word of God so much!

Hey friend, is the Bible your foundation? Does it guide you in the midnight seasons? Does it give light on directions to take? Have you followed it to the hope of Heaven—faith in Jesus Christ?

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IT

Spiritual truth is more essential to a nation than mortar to its cities' walls. For when the actions of a people are unguided by these truths, it is only a matter of time before the walls themselves collapse. --Charles Lindbergh

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1

What you believe governs your life. If you believe; getting an education and working hard will one day pay off, you will live your life doing just that. If you believe exercise and proper diet will allow you to live a longer, healthier life, you will do that. If you believe saving money and investing it in the stock market will make you financially sound, you will do just that. The same is with the Bible!

If you believe the Bible is the Word of God, it is essential to life, and has the answer to where you came from and where you are going, you will live accordingly! What you believe about Genesis 1:1 will determine what you believe about John 3:16. Your belief doesn’t change the Word of God but it does change you!

What part of your life is not governed by the Word of God? What do you have tucked away in your life that you haven’t given to the Lord? Do you really believe the Bible? Before the mortar of your life gives way, why not surrender all and allow Him to direct your life through His Word???

FOUNDATION COLLAPSE

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psalm 119:160

The foundation is the most important part of a building. But if the building’s floors, walls, and ceiling aren’t installed correctly- I still do not want to be in it. A few years ago a ceiling collapsed on the campus of Duke University. The reason, it wasn’t installed correctly. They had attached the supports to part of an existing ceiling but did not anchor it back to the original rafters.

Just as with that ceiling, if we are not anchored to The Truth our lives will eventually collapse around us. We will begin to believe the lies of the devil. And as it says in James 1:14-15, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

Does it seem as if your walls are collapsing in around you? Has your life hit rock bottom? When your down there it is only one way to look- and that’s UP!----I know you have heard the saying, “When all else fails, read the Bible.” My saying is a spin on that, “Before all else fails, read the Bible!”

NO MATTER WHAT— GETUP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH TODAY!

Investing time in the Lord’s House brings eternal dividends!

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. Psalm 84:4

The Lord saved me when I was 22 years old. Since that day I have only missed a few days of church. Being in a church where the Word of God is preached, the Holy Spirit has liberty, and a people wanting to grow in God’s grace has helped me more than any school I have ever been to. It has helped develop my world view, my Christian character, and a work ethic that has been rewarded. But more than the earthly values, being in church is preparing me for heaven. It is where I heard the Gospel preached, where I learned how to forgive, where I learned how to share what God has done for me, where I surrendered to preach, and it is now where I serve.

Friend, you have a resource at hand like none other. Don’t forsake what Jesus died for! “…even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;” Ephesians 5:25
