Lies

DON’T SPEAK LIES ABOUT OTHERS!

Never throw mud. You may miss your mark, but you will have dirty hands. -Parker

He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. Proverbs 10:18

Several years ago we were going through a rough time in the ministry. Lies about me and my family came out but very few people came to me to find out if the information that was said was true. I found it amazing that folks you ministered with for years were quick to believe a lie told by someone they hardly knew. I often wonder why professing Christians don’t follow God’s Word when they have a dispute (ought) with someone else in their church family.

Christian friend, if you find yourself with some bitterness brewing because you feel someone has done you wrong in the ministry or you have heard something about them, go to them. Talk it out! If you don’t, you give place for the devil to work and he would love nothing more than to destroy the relationship you have with your church family!

BIG FAT CON GAME

The problem with a con game is someone always loses!

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Genesis 3:4

The first con game preformed upon man was when Satan conned Eve to eat the fruit. Ever since, every con game has been the same; the liar takes a touch of the truth and twist it into what their reality is. The end is always the same as well, someone has lost something but nothing compares to what all of mankind lost that day in the Garden.

Don’t be duped, hoodwinked, or tricked Child of God! Satan is out to steal, kill, and destroy! He wants to steal your time, talents, and treasures! He wants to kill your peace, joy, and happiness! He wants to destroy your very soul! But Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” What a joy in knowing we have life in Jesus!

DECEPTION IS JUST AN AVOIDED LIE.

Oh what an evil web we weave when we practice to deceive.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 1 John 3:7

When I was growing up I held out on all of the information I was suppose to tell my parents. I did this so I wouldn’t have to tell a lie. You probably did it as well.

Sometimes it went like this… Mom, I’m going to the mall. Ok- I went to the mall... and then off to a friend’s house, down to the creek, etc. If I told Mom to a friend’s house or the creek, I would get the third degree and I would have to tell a lie.

If you are saved, why not just tell the truth? God knows what’s going on anyway! Why are you avoiding man’s judgment but willing to take God’s? Matthew 10:28, And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Out of peanut butter...again?

An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie; for an excuse is a lie guarded.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:20

How many lies have we told in our lives? Sometimes the lies we tell are over stupid things that really don’t make a difference. We may as well say, "I'm out of peanut butter." Why? Because one excuse is as good as another. But, For some people lying is a habit; a habit that has transformed their entire lives into one big excuse, one big lie. A habit that will one day lead them to hell.

Are you living a lie? Do the people around you think you are a Christian but in fact you have never confessed, repented and asked the Lord to save you? While you may get away with that lie here on Earth when you stand before the Lord on judgment day He will see right through it. He will say, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:23
