Memorial Day

MEMORIAL DAY

“The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender, or submission.” -John F. Kennedy

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

Today, in America, we honor those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Many, that right out of High School took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, those that trained for eight to thirteen weeks that came out as Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Guardsmen, those that traveled to foreign lands to defend the weak and defeat their enemies, those that moved dirt and built schools to put towns back together, those that came home in a flag draped casket. Today, we honor the Soldier that has given their life in order for every American to live free.

President Harry S. Truman said it best when he said, “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.”

Will you take a moment and honor those that gave you the freedoms we enjoy every day?

HONORING THE FALLEN

I only regret I have but one life to lose for my country. — Nathan Hale

John 15:13, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Today, in the United States of America, we celebrate the men and women who have laid down their lives for freedom. Husbands and Wives, Fathers and Mothers, Son and Daughters, Nieces and Nephews, maybe even a Grandpa or Grandma who have sacrificed their lives for freedom! Specifically, some of these freedoms include: the right to assemble to worship, the right of free speech, the right to carry a gun, and the right to vote.

So yes, I will honor the lives of those who have given their lives to secure our freedom! Will you join me?

The Greatest Memorial

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

The American Soldier puts country before them self for the cause of national security and for what’s in our country’s best interest. Some not only gave of their time and talents but many with their very lives. Those are the ones we honor today. Those are the ones who have given the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, so you and I can have freedom! Just like those men and women, we owe our very lives to this great country we live in, if for no other reason—to honor them.

There is One Soldier that fought a different battle though. This Soldier placed upon Himself the sins of the world, not only for the interest of an individual’s spiritual security but for everyone’s best interest. Jesus came to seek that which was lost and in doing so laid down His life for you and I! Each one of us in return need to present our bodies a living sacrifice in order to bring Him honor!
