CHECK UP

Some people wonder why their children are such liars. If they'd look into a mirror; they'd probably see the reason. - D.L. Moody

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies. Proverbs 14:5

It’s so easy to point out other people’s sin. We like to compare ourselves with them instead of the Lord Jesus because we don’t look as bad. We can nick pick them to death and we walk away thinking we smell like roses. The truth is—all our righteousness is as a pile of filthy rags and our sin riddled life stinks! There is nothing good about us unless we have Him in us!

When is the last time you looked into the Word of God to get a perfect picture of yourself? There is no better mirror in which we can get a real picture of who you are and where you are going! Take a few minutes today to get a checkup! And while you’re at it, go to the midweek services at your local Christ Centered, Bible Believing, Independent, Fundamental, New Testament, Bible Preaching Church!

WHAT YOU LOOKING AT

When you choose the lesser of two evils, always remember that it is still an evil. -Max Lerner

1 Thessalonians 5:22, Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Today, instead of comparing ourselves to each other, let us compare ourselves to God. You say how am I to do that? Read His Word. It is a mirror into our soul. It will reveal those deepest reflections that no one else can see. And the great thing about that is, God brings about conviction and allows confession, which leads to a cleansing of our hearts. All to the glory of God!

LOOK IN THE MIRROR

The things that are wrong with the country today are the sum total of all the things that are wrong with us as individuals. --Charles W. Tobey

James 1:23-24, For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

It’s easy sitting behind a screen commenting on other people’s post or throwing your opinion out on social media. It’s real safe to open your filthy mouth distorting facts and telling blatant lies to push your agenda when no one can question your view. It’s amazingly convenient that you’re never around to take the responsibility of your own actions.

If you were to stop long enough to survey your own life, you may find out that many of your problems would disappear, if you truly looked in the mirror of God’s Word, finding out what God says about you.
