Monday

IT’S MONDAY- PRAISE THE LORD

Why should we go reeling and staggering under the burdens and cares of life when we have such prospects before us?  If there is nothing but glory beyond, our faces ought to shine brightly all the time. - D.L. Moody

Psalm 33:1, Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

Yeah, I know, it’s the dreaded Monday—again! But friend, what better day to give the Lord praise than on the day that everyone dreads? We are not looking forward to the work day. We are not looking forward to the responsibilities. We are not looking forward to the drudgery. We are not looking forward to the drama with co-workers. There is not much that we get excited about on Mondays. That my friend is the reason the believer needs to praise the Lord even more.

He has given it to us just like every other day! He is still the same God on Monday that was God over the weekend!

MONDAYS ARE OPPORTUNITIES

Our days are numbered so let’s do what we can for the Lord today.

Psalm 118:24, This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

A young boy asked his grandpa one day, “Grandpa, how old were you when you were a little boy?” He said, “Son, I don’t know but it seems like it was yesterday.” Friend, the older we get, the more it seems as time flies by. It’s just like I was in the Navy yesterday, floating around the Mediterranean Sea. It seems as if few days ago my son was born, my daughter got married, and now… I’m a Papa.

It seems time is coming at us faster and faster. Before we know it, we are going to be with our Saviour wondering what happened to the life He gave us. Instead of the same old Monday routine, let’s get up today with a renewed strength in our walk with the Lord. Let’s get up rejoicing in the opportunity He has given us to be a blessing to others. Yes, even on a Monday we can rejoice because Mondays are opportunities just like every other day!

MONDAY, OH IT’S MONDAY

We have to live but one day at a time, but we are living for eternity in that one day. -Anonymous

Psalm 90:12, So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Oh, the dreaded Monday is upon us again. The first day of the work week. This first day, for some, a week of sweat, blood, and tears. Why do we dread the Monday so much? I believe we aren’t looking at Mondays the way God desires us to look at it.

I believe the Lord would have us to look at Monday as another day to serve Him. Another day to serve others. Another day to exalt His name among the lost, dying and hurting world.

How are you going to face today; with the dread of the first day of the week or with the hope of seeing someone come to Christ?

MONDAY IS TODAY…

Don’t count your eggs before they hatch…you won’t know how many chicks you have until they’re in the pin.

Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1

Many people have posted gloom and doom pictures over the last 24 hrs about Monday being today. “Keep calm and pretend it’s not Monday. Monday…I want to break up. What to do when you encounter Monday” are just a few of the sayings that gets to the point of no one likes Mondays!

But let me remind you of a certain truth about Mondays; God made them too! And with a Monday comes another 24 hrs. to bring Him honor and glory! For us to share the Gospel call. But there is a problem us posting about Monday—yesterday: none of us were guaranteed to make it to today. We didn’t have to make it to today and we are not guaranteed tomorrow. So I have a bit of advice for you; invest in today like it’s your last for it may very well be!
