Being busy doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doing anything for the Lord.
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10:38-42
So often we find ourselves spinning our wheels trying to get something finished up. We get so busy we go in circles not really getting anything done. I don’t know about you I often feel that way while at work. One fella says do it this way, another says that way. One guy says turn left, the other turn right. Before you know it we are right back where we started and haven’t gotten anything done! We were busy…busy doing nothing!
Child of God, make sure you are in the will of God. Being in the Will of God doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in full time service. It could be you are a bus worker, choir member, or Deacon. It may mean you are a Pastor, pastor’s wife, or a Missionary. Whatever it is, make sure you don’t get ahead of God and that may even mean you have to sit a while at His feet to listen!
