SIT STILL

Never get to busy to hear the voice of God.

Psalm 46:10, Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Work, ball practice, Sunday School preparation, church, school, etc. It can all be overwhelming at times. Sometimes in this life, many describe themselves as a cat chasing their own tails. But is that all life is about? Go, go, go and never getting a break?

Absolutely not! The Lord expects us to take some time outs! He desires for us to sit still so we can hear Him talk to us. Not because He can’t get our attention but because when we are still, we comprehend what He is telling us!

Hey friend, sit still! Listen up! God is trying to tell you something! Will you know He is God? Will you exalt Him?

SITTING OR SERVING?

The living Church, though never neat, keeps God's world from complete disaster. -Macleod

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4

The sold out born again Christian has more to offer this world than the world realizes. From common sense life issues to dignity in business dealings, the true Christian will be the catalyst God uses to bring peace in a troubled world.

Will you be one of the Christians He uses or will you be on the side line watching? What makes the difference? Will you pick up your Bible and begin to read or will you make more time for the game? Will you invest in others or will you be stuck on yourself? Will you be GETTING UP, GETTING READY, and GOING TO CHURCH this morning or will you sleep in? These things are what make the difference! So what will you be doing sitting or serving?

SITTING OR STANDING

Sitting is for a person when their work has been accomplished. A person standing has their hands busy doing something for the lord.

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. Philippians 4:1

To stand fast Matthew Henry says is, “To stand fast in his strength and by His grace; not trusting in ourselves, and disclaiming any sufficiency of our own.”

Are we living by His grace? Are we truly thankful for getting what we do not deserve? I believe when we disrespect others, whether on a field or not, we are in turn being unthankful for the grace God gives.

Do we trust in ourselves? Do you believe you live in your own strength? Do you take for granted the strength God gives you to breathe, get out of bed, to walk, or to talk? It is only by His mercy we are not consumed!

Friend, if you think there is any good in you, you need to read the Bible one more time. We have no sufficiency of our own. If we are not standing in the Lord; standing in His strength, by His grace, not trusting in self, or claiming any sufficiency of your own, we may as well be sitting with satan.

You want to make a difference in this life? Quit sitting around and trust Jesus as Saviour! Get busy serving Him!
