FOLLOW REAL CLOSE

You can never be too close to Jesus.

1 Peter 2:21, For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Do you remember as a child, how close you would stay to your parents or grandparents? They would always be saying, “Get out from under my feet!” The you would cling to them even harder.

We need to have that type of desire for Christ! We will never hear Him say, “Back off, Get out of my Bubble, or You’re too close.” But what we do hear from His Word is, “Draw nigh to God”.
Has there ever been a time you have been closer to the Lord than now? You might want to evaluate your heart and get whatever is in between you and Him out.

A LITTLE CLOSER

Staying close, keeps us on the straight and narrow.

James 4:8, Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

When it comes to my Christian walk, I have found my worst enemy is myself. I am the one that leads me astray. I am the one that succumbs to the temptations Satan throws at me. I am the one that wonders away from God. I have also found the cure for all of it; it is staying close to the Lord!

James tells us to “Draw nigh to God”, for a very good reason. We are less likely to sin against Him when we do. So friend, get a little closer to the Lord, stay close to the Lord, and he will draw nigh to you!

PLEASE DON’T SHUT THE DOOR!

When you say a situation or a person is hopeless, you are slamming the door in the face of God. –Allen

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. Psalm 38:15

Growing up Mom and Dad always asked, “Were you born in a barn?” I always wanted to say, “What, don’t you know? You WERE there!” But, I had better sense! Many years have passed and I went through the stage of asking my kids the very same thing. Now, I am kind of looking forward to asking Grandkids!

But when it comes to the Lord, DON’T SHUT THE DOOR! Don’t shut Him out of your life by not giving Him a chance to work in and through you! Don’t give up on Him! Shout like David, ”For in thee, O LORD, do I hope:”
