Correction

CORRECTION IS GOOD

A man with no correction; has a pretty good chance of ending up in the Department of Corrections.

Job 5:17, Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

God has so instituted the family that each person has their important role. While Mom does do much of the correcting, Dad has long been held as the disciplinarian in the home. According to the Word of God, Dad has been placed as the head of the home and such should be that disciplinarian.

I remember— little Jay gets home from school with his report card. Mom said, “A “F” in English Jay, You wait until Dad gets home.” he’s going to tan you hide! I wished I had a quarter for every time I heard that! You know what? That correction was good in my life. It probably kept me out of jail! I believe, it is one of the things we are missing in today’s society. Correction, accountability, and responsibility are just a few things we need to return to in our world today!

One day we will stand before a thrice Holy God and give an account what we have done with this life. What have we done with His Word? What have we done with the Truth? What have we done with the Gospel? Heed to this correction in your life today because it is good!

CORRECTION OR PUNISHMENT

Unless there are people who are responding to the love of God as revealed in Christ and so are worshipping Him, the Church is not very important. -Blake

Proverbs 3:11-12, My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Discipline from the Lord comes in three ways; Corrective, preventive, and instructive. In either way the goal of the Lord is always the same, correction. It is not just being punished for sin we have been done. He wants us to be corrected and conformed to His image. He wants us to correct and respond to His Word in such a way that we bring Him honor and glory and we grow in grace! So, He corrects us when we are in sin!

In what way do you respond to the Lord’s chastening and correction? It ought to be the way scripture says, ”…it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.“- Hebrews 5:11

I DON’T WANT A BROKEN LEG!

Sometimes God must break some legs in order to get us to follow him.

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. Hebrews 12:6

It would seem mean and or evil to some that God would punish those that run from him. But truth be known, if he didn’t love us, he would just let us run wild in this world. I am so glad my father in heaven loves me enough to correct me when I am going astray. Even with a broken leg if necessary!

Are you walking and or running away from God’s leading in your life? You’re standing in a dangerous place friend! Please heed to his word, letting him work in you and through you for his glory and your good.
