Seek

HE IS SEEKING FOR WHOSOEVER WILL!

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

Several years ago we went on a Mission Trip to Montana. We had a buddy system but it failed at the airport while leaving North Carolina. One of the adults got missing! We were looking for him outside of the airport, in the restrooms, and in the restaurants but he wasn’t in any of them. He went ahead of everyone to the gate but failed to tell his buddy! When we found him he said, “I was wondering what happened to y’all, I was looking for you.”

When Zacchaeus went looking for Jesus He didn’t know Jesus had already arranged to meet him that very day. What a blessed thought; Jesus is seeking whosoever will! He is even seeking you! Will you come to Him like Zacchaeus did; humbling yourself, repenting, and having His grace change you?

Salvation came to this Zacchaeus’ house, it can come to yours as well!

HE’S STILL LOOKING FOR YOU…TO FOLLOW HIM

The distinction between following Christ and all other systems of religion consists largely in this: that in these other, men are found seeking after God, while Christ is God seeking after men. --Unknown

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

I believe within the heart of every man, woman, boy, and girl there is a God size hole in the middle of their soul. Although everyone seeks to fill this hole with sex, drugs, self-promotion, alcohol, vain glory, personal gain, and other forms of self indulgence, the only thing that will fill it is The Lord Jesus. He comes wanting you and I to trust Him, to repent, to receive, to follow Him today!

AVOID COVETOUSNESS

Just suppose the Lord should have everyone stoned to death for covetousness as was Achan.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5

There are so many things men and women covet after; money, fancy cars, big houses, etc. One thing about all of it though, one day you won’t take it with you. One day you will either have spent it all, given it to family, or it will be worn out.

Child of God, be happy with whatever God has blessed you with. Quit trying to keep up with the Jones’. Paul told Timothy, “But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6”  So in order to have that “great gain” we better start….”seeking first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness….”
