NEVER TOO MUCH LIGHT

There is not darkness enough in all the world to put out the light of one little candle. –Epitaph

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:14

I was watching an informational video yesterday and the lecturer was talking about things to do when you are getting ready to sell your house. He said, “There is never too much light. Light makes rooms look big and darkness makes rooms look small.” There is a lot of practical wisdom in that statement concerning the ascetics of a house ready for the sell.

Child of God, you and I are the Light of the World and that Light is Jesus. Much more important than any house being prepared to be sold is the life needing so much Light it will convince a lost person to be saved! A lost person needs to see and hear a clear presentation of the Gospel. A lost person needs to hear without Jesus we are helplessly trapped in our sinful condition but if we repent of our sin and trust Christ as Saviour, we are redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb.

How much Light is your life reflecting today? Is there any?

OH, JUST TAKE A SHORT CUT!

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Many people would like to take a short cut when it comes to getting into Heaven. They would love to make in on their own good works. And many of them believe that is exactly how you get there. The problem is, that’s not what the Bible says. Yes, the Word of God actually says something totally different than what you are use to hearing. What it says is, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 You may ask, “what is good works for then? The answer, to show you are saved and on your way to Heaven! “Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” James 2:18

If you’re saved and on your way to Heaven, your works will line up with your mouth is saying. In other words, your walk will line up with your talk!

How’s your walk? Are you trying to take a short cut? Be careful because what will happen is you will remain lost—forever!

HE IS SEEKING FOR WHOSOEVER WILL!

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10

Several years ago we went on a Mission Trip to Montana. We had a buddy system but it failed at the airport while leaving North Carolina. One of the adults got missing! We were looking for him outside of the airport, in the restrooms, and in the restaurants but he wasn’t in any of them. He went ahead of everyone to the gate but failed to tell his buddy! When we found him he said, “I was wondering what happened to y’all, I was looking for you.”

When Zacchaeus went looking for Jesus He didn’t know Jesus had already arranged to meet him that very day. What a blessed thought; Jesus is seeking whosoever will! He is even seeking you! Will you come to Him like Zacchaeus did; humbling yourself, repenting, and having His grace change you?

Salvation came to this Zacchaeus’ house, it can come to yours as well!

JUST A SIMPLE THANK YOU WILL DO!

When is the last time you gave a little praise to someone?

He who sincerely praises God will soon discover within his soul an inclination to praise goodness in his fellow man. --Oliver G. Wilson

And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. Luke 17:14-16

Someone holds the door open for you, do you say thank you? Someone says, “Have a blessed day”, do you say thank you? God sends a special blessing your way, do you offer Him praise? What keeps us from taking a moment to say thank you? God isn’t too busy for us we shouldn’t be too busy for Him or the lost, hurting, and dying in this world!

OUR GREAT CONCREN IS THE GREAT COMMISION—CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH- STATESVILLE

It is the pagan heart that needs the redeeming message of Christ whether the person who has the heart lives in Shanghai or New York. –Decker

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

After finishing out our Faith Promise Mission’s Conference and seeing this message from CBC- Statesville posted on a friend’s page, I have to rejoice in what the Lord is doing in missions at Calvary Baptist Church of North Lenoir County! After the morning service yesterday our people committed to raising our mission’s given by 70%! Yes, that was 70%! Amen!

If you don’t go to a church that is mission minded…why not? How do you fulfill the Great Commission if you don’t support missions through your local church? Do you tell others about Jesus yourself? Have you gone to the uttermost for the guttermost? What and or how are you fulfilling the Great Commission child of God?
