TEACH

The teacher is like the candle that lights others in consuming itself. -Ruffini

2 Timothy 2:2, And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Oh, that we would learn to convey to others what someone conveyed to us. The Gospel of Jesus Christ does not need to find a logging place in our heads; It needs to find a longing in our hearts so that we would tell others about Him. If we don’t, who will? Who’s going to fill the shoes of those who stand up and proclaim the Gospel today? Who’s going to go to the lost and dying world ten years from now. For many of us, our current pastors will be dead and gone. Are we training the next generation of preachers, teachers, evangelist, and missionaries? Hey child of God, maybe He is calling you to step up, step out, and step into the greatest things anyone can do; teaching others about Jesus!

2 Timothy 2:2, And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

What are you learning about the Lord right now in your life? What lessons has He been bringing you through: patience, trust, love, compassion? Who are you going to teach what you have learned? If you don’ teach someone else what you have learned, what real good was it for you to go through?

Teaching others a life lesson is one of the greatest things we can do. This way, they may avoid some trap Satan has laid for them or they will be able to teach it to someone else helping them along their way!

INVEST IN YOUR KIDS

The educated man is the one who refuses to view the world from the steeple of his own church. -Missionary Tidings

It is never too early to start training our children. Some studies say, reading to children while they are in the mother's womb makes them smarter. But what are we teaching them? Are we instructing them in righteousness or are we teaching them the way of the world?

Fast forward a few years from the womb. We might be taking the kids to church every time the doors are opened but are we living Christ before them? How about the places we go? How about the things we watch? How about how we conduct business? How about the way we treat our spouse? How about the way we talk about the church? How about the way we talk about fellow believers? How about the way we take criticism? How about how we treat the policeman that just pulled us over for speeding? How about how we act when driving? How about the way we treat the pastor? How about where we spending our money? Yes, we could continue on but I think you get the point.

Do you truly teach your kids from the view point of the Word of God? Do you not only teach them with your mouth but with your life as well? Hypocritical Christian living is one of the things that is killing families all over. Dads, will you take the lead in your home? Moms, will you be there to be their help meet?

Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:4, And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Proverbs 29:17, Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

Colossians 3:21, Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Acts 5:42

Notice what it says in the verse above, “…they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Why didn’t they teach home economics or shop class? Why not a class on business or how to balance a checkbook? They didn’t teach and preach those things because those things won’t get anyone to Heaven!

And then look where they did it at, “…in the temple, and every house.” This temple is our modern day church. It was the central place of worship. So they came to the temple to worship the Lord while begin taught and preached to. Not only did they come to the temple but they started at home! What a challenge for you and I! It’s not up to the church to teach our kids, it’s yours and mine Mom and Dad!

Lastly, look at how often they did it, “And daily…” In their homes and in the temple they met daily to worship the Lord Jesus by teaching and preaching about the death, burial, and resurrection.

This morning, GET UP, GET READY, and TO GO TO CHURCH! But before you leave the house, will you teach and preach Jesus?

GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

Teaching about our Saviour begins in the home and continues in the church!

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Acts 5:42

If you aren’t practicing at home what you preach and teach at church then maybe you don’t believe what you say you do. That doesn’t mean we need to stop teaching and preaching at church. What it means is we need to repent and get right with the Lord! We need to first be teaching and preaching at home then GETTING UP, GETTING READY, and GOING TO CHURCH…prepared to worship the Lord in spirit and truth!
