CHURCH MATTERS

The living Church, though never neat, keeps God's world from complete disaster. -Macleod

Hebrews 10:23-25, Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Some folks believe that just because they are saved, they don’t need the local church. This is far from the truth. We need the local church for personal growth. We need the local church for accountability. We need the local church for responsibility. We need the local church for missions. We need the local church for our own assurance.

Sure, you can catch a message online but there is nothing like being in person with fellow believers worshipping and praise the Lord for His goodness to us. Church matters because God commands us to worship together! By the way, do you reckon one of those online preachers will preach your funeral for yah?

TIME FOR CHURCH!

GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. Psalm 55:14

Online sermons, TV evangelists, apathy, and many more distractions have crept into the church house! Instead of getting fed from the local body of believers, we get online or turn the TV channel to our favorite preacher. We forsake what God has called good. We take for granted what God gave Himself for! Complacency sets in when we do not hear the importance of sharing the Gospel. Apathy sets in when we do not get involved in the church.

Are you well on your way to getting to church on time? Will you make an extra effort to get to Sunday School? What are you willing to sacrifice if not? Your personal walk with Jesus? Your children’s salvation? A friend’s salvation? Who or what are you willing to sacrifice so you can sleep in, go finishing, mow the yard, or just veg out?

TIME TO HEAR THE WORD!

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Psalm 122:1

It’s been a rough week I know but would you do me a favor? GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH! Your life depends on it! Your co-worker’s life depends on it! Your children’s life depends on it! Can I be frank with you? The world depends on you and me putting a high priority on going to church! When we neglect it, we are telling them it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t make a difference, it doesn’t mean anything! But child of God, David even said, He was glad to go to church! Shouldn’t we be?

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!

The Light of the church in this world is never out!

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4

How do we keep the Light shining brightly, by GETTING UP, GETTING, READY, and GOING TO CHURCH this morning! Don’t put it off! Don’t make another excuse! Don’t lay in bed all day! Don’t binge on TV! Don’t go fishing, shopping, or to the park! No matter what’s due or what’s to do make it a point in going to church this morning!

GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

No greater way to start the week than to be in church worshiping our Saviour in Spirit and Truth together!

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4

D.L Moody said, “The difference between listening to a radio sermon and going to church, someone has said, is almost like the difference between calling your girl on the telephone and spending an evening with her.” Will you spend time with your Saviour today or will you listen to Him on the internet somewhere?

Don’t miss out on what God has for you today! He gave His best for us, I  think we need to give Him our best right back!

GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

A thermometer of your love of the Lord is manifested each Sunday!

We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. Psalm 55:14

This past week, it snowed in our area. People got up the next day, got ready for work, and slipped and slid on in to meet their obligations at their place of employment. The wintry mix didn’t stop them from getting to where they were needed. They walked through the white stuff to get to the door of work. The cold powder didn’t keep them from clocking in their forty for this week. But those same people won’t be in church this morning because of snow on the roads or on the church parking lot.

Have I described you? Do you always put work before church? Maybe you need to GET ON UP, GET READY, and GET TO CHURCH where you do a check up on what or whom you truly love.

GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Revelation 2:4

Many believe they don’t have to go to church in order to be a Christian. While this is true let me just share a few thoughts on that:

1. Does a husband HAVE to live in the same house with their wife?

2. Does a wife HAVE to spend time with their husband?

3. Does a husband HAVE to study his wife in order to get to know her likes and dislikes?

4. Does a wife HAVE to prepare meals for her husband or VISE VERSE?

5. Does a husband or wife HAVE to honor their spouse?

Just a few thoughts all with the same answer, “No!” However, if you love your spouse you will live with them. You will spend time with them. You will study them. You will help them around the house. You will honor them. And much, much more!

Such it is if we are a Christian…We will love the times we get to go to church. We love getting to spend time with His children people worshipping and praising Him. We love getting to study His Word learning more about Him and ourselves. We love getting to help in God’s House, where we meet corporately with one another. We love to get to partake of the Lord’s Supper with one another. We love and honor our Saviour by coming to church!

Child of God, what has happened in your life that has distracted you from the love of God you once had? What has caused you to leave your first love? Well, this morning set that aside for a little while and GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH!

Before all else fails, listen to what the Lord is trying to tell you…by going to church!

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Acts 5:42

The message of a true church is Jesus. Jesus’ life, Jesus’ death, Jesus’ burial, Jesus’ resurrection! If any message is preached that doesn’t uplift the Saviour, it takes away from the true message God gives the church. Don’t hang around and listen to good feeling stories. You can find them all day long on the Hallmark channel. If you want the truth, find a church where the pastor preaches the Gospel! Don’t settle for anything less…if you do…you’re not in a church you’re in a social club.

GET READY, GET SET, GO…TO CHURCH!

The difference between listening to a radio sermon and going to church, someone has said, is almost like the difference between calling your girl on the telephone and spending an evening with her. –Moody

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Galatians 1:6

If you never saw me and my wife together would you think we were married? If I never spent time with her, laughed with her, cried with her, or journeyed around this world together would we really have a relationship? Would we really be married? Marriage is more than a piece of paper, it is a intimate union between two people. Such it is with our Saviour! And if there is not fellowship; no laughing, crying, or journeying together, then there isn’t a relationship at all!

SO IF YOU SAY YOU’RE SAVED, GET UP, GET READY, AND GO TO CHURCH! Spend time with the Saviour and His people at His house!

Does my church love sinners the way Jesus does?

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Ephesians 2:19

I am thankful on this Sunday morning the church I was attending when I got saved had a love for sinners! If not, I may not have ever come the second time. I may not have even ever gotten saved! I am also glad I pastor a church that loves sinners now. If it didn't, I would resign and leave.

How is your church doing in this area Pastor? Choir Leader? Choir Member? Sunday School Teacher? Church Member? Do we have the love of sinners as Christ did? If not, we need to do something about it!

I hope you're going!

Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. Hebrews 2:12

Bus workers are you excited? Teachers are you prepared? Choir are you tuned up? Pastor are you prayed up, studied up, and confessed up? If so, GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH expecting to meet with the Lord today!

Sinner friend, there is someone waiting for you at church today. Why not put a smile on their face by you GETTING UP, GETTING READY, and GOING TO CHURCH? It may make the difference for you for all of eternity!

What is your desire on this Sunday Morning?

The Christian church is a society of sinners.  It is the only society in the world, membership in which is based upon the single qualification that the candidate shall be unworthy of membership. –Morrison

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4

There are no perfect people in this world. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. The different between the Christian and the lost man is what He has done with The Lord Jesus Christ. The lost man has done nothing with Christ and stands in judgment—to live forever in Hell. The Christian has accepted Jesus as Saviour—to live forever in Heaven. With Christ as Saviour His desires have changed. Where once they were selfish and self centered, now they are selfless and Christ Centered.

Has your desired change? If not GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH TODAY! Learn what this scripture is talking about:”Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
