Hell is paved with good intentions. –Boswell

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. John 6:38

Yes, Dad I’ll take the trash out. Yes, Mom I’ll wash the dishes when I get home from school. Yes, preacher I’ll take care of that for you. We have all heard it before; that person who has said that they would do something but then fails to do it. A man’s word is not what it used to be that’s for sure.

Except our Lord’s Word isn’t the same! The Lord tells us years before the birth of Jesus He would send the Messiah to deliver the sinner. He doesn’t do this with good intentions; He does it with a Great Guarantee! He came to do the will of His Father. He came to seek and to save that which was lost! That was you and I friend! And… ”That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

What is your desire on this Sunday Morning?

The Christian church is a society of sinners.  It is the only society in the world, membership in which is based upon the single qualification that the candidate shall be unworthy of membership. –Morrison

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4

There are no perfect people in this world. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. The different between the Christian and the lost man is what He has done with The Lord Jesus Christ. The lost man has done nothing with Christ and stands in judgment—to live forever in Hell. The Christian has accepted Jesus as Saviour—to live forever in Heaven. With Christ as Saviour His desires have changed. Where once they were selfish and self centered, now they are selfless and Christ Centered.

Has your desired change? If not GET UP, GET READY, and GO TO CHURCH TODAY! Learn what this scripture is talking about:”Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Why you so angry?

Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be.  --Thomas a Kempis

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32

Sometimes we get angry for the simplest of reasons; a toilet lid left up, a supper not finished on time, or someone messing up a project you have been working on for days. But in the end, is it enough to lose a spouse or friend over? No, probably not. So why not forgive them before your anger turns into something irreparable? By the way…didn’t the Lord forgive you?
